New York City has postponed the date for restaurants and the food industry with more than 15 locations to post nutritional information, including the federal recommendation for the intake of 2000 calories per day.
The launch of the law was scheduled for August 21, and businesses that did not comply with the new rules would be fined between $200 and $600. However, on August 16, the parties to the dispute agreed to extend the period.
The next hearing in Manhattan's federal court will be on August 25.
"We are pleased that we can continue to discuss these issues and we will return to the court on August 25," Health Commissioner Mary Basset told reporters.
Between the parties were present the lawyers of the National Association of Restaurants and of the National Association of Shops.
