Restaurants are a big part of the appeal at Pullman Market, the new 40,000-sq.ft food-focused space from Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group that opened on April 23 in San Antonio, Texas.
“Pullman Market is a sensory-rich market that fosters the connection between regional producers and our community,” the market’s website explains. “Engaging people through a multi-faceted experience, to shift food from a transactional relationship to one of personal meaning.”
Mexican food is playing a starring role in creating that multi-faceted experience.
Mezquité, a Mexican restaurant focusing on foods from the Sonora state, celebrates “the food pathways of the Sonoran region,” with a menu that includes grilled meats, flour tortillas and delicious cocktails. The name refers to the tree, whose wood is used for smoking and cooking.
And next to Mezquite is the restaurant’s Mezcaleria — a mezcal bar that features “a fun-forward, agave-centered menu.”
