The Latino Restaurant Association, which is based in Los Angeles, is asking for help for restaurants that have been affected by the devastating fires in that community. Here is a letter that Lilly Rocha, LRA Executive Director, sent:
Dear LRA Partners and Supporters:
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share that Los Angeles has been devastated by the worst wildfires in its history. The damage has been unprecedented, and our vibrant Latino restaurant community is among those hit hardest.
One of our most dynamic members, Café de Leche in Altadena, has tragically lost its entire structure, and many others are grappling with severe losses—from physical damages to disruptions in their livelihoods. These restaurants are not just businesses; they are cornerstones of our neighborhoods, providing jobs, cultural pride, and connection.
As the Executive Director of the Latino Restaurant Association (LRA), I am committed to doing everything we can to help these establishments rebuild and recover. However, we cannot do it alone.
I am asking for your support in this time of crisis. Your contribution to the LRA Wildfire Relief Fund will allow us to:
- Provide emergency financial assistance to impacted restaurant owners.
- Support workers displaced by the fires.
- Help rebuild structures, kitchens, and dining spaces.
- Advocate for additional resources at the local and state levels.
Every dollar raised will go directly to helping these businesses get back on their feet. I know your commitment to our community is unwavering and you and your company's help is needed.
To contribute, please visit here for more information. Time is critical, and your generosity will make an immediate impact on those in need.
Thank you for standing with us and for supporting the heart of Los Angeles’ Latino culinary culture. Together, we can help these restaurants recover and thrive once again.
Warm regards,
Lilly Rocha
