Living it Up at La Mesa, Los Angeles
Los Angelenos who want the full New Year’s Eve experience can find it at La Mesa, a glamorous restaurant and lounge that will offer big name entertainment to ring in 2024. The night will include performances by DJ and producer Joezi and Tel Aviv-based DJ Takiru. The restaurant is charging a $60 entry fee that does not include dinner; guests who want tables on or near the dance floor can reserve those for $500 to $1,500, with “minimum spends” from $2,000 to $5,000.
New Year’s Gourmet Feast in Chicago
Tzuco, a high-end Modern Mexican restaurant in Chicago helmed by Chef Carlos Gaytan, is throwing a New Year’s Eve feast designed for true lovers of Mexican cuisine. The four-course dinner, priced at $120 per person, starts with an amuse-bouche consisting of Kumamoto oyster, yuzu gelée, and smoked trout caviar. The primero is a choice among American Kobe tartare, Hamachi aguachile, or asparagus in truffle béarnaise sauce. Next comes the segundo, a choice of a saffron-seasoned Halibut Bouillabaisse; braised veal cheeks in almond-mole sauce; or a tlacoyo made with blue corn masa. Finally, the tercero is a choice from three of Gaytan’s famous desserts, including the tangerine mousse “Snowman”; tapioca infused with citrus; or sweet cornbread topped with saffron ice cream. Perhaps the best part: For an extra $45, guests can enjoy wine pairings for each course drawn from the restaurant’s extensive collection of Mexican wines, including offerings from Casa de Piedra and Casa Madero.
New Year’s Eve Afloat in New York
La Barca Cantina in New York City is offering guests something they probably cannot get at any other Mexican restaurant – New Year’s Eve on a floating restaurant! The restaurant promises that guests will have a great view of the city’s midnight fireworks show and the Statue of Liberty. The meal is an all-you-can-eat regional Mexican feast including lamb barbacoa, cochinita pibil, roasted mahi mahi and much more, accompanied by an open bar. A DJ will keep the guests on the dance floor! The event will set guests back $369 per person.
Traditional Twelve Grapes in Miami
La Veinte Cantina in Miami is throwing a party that will include the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes, one at each of the twelve bells of midnight. The tradition is supposed to bring good luck in the new year, and the fantastic menu at La Veinte is a good place to start that luck, including Wagyu Carpaccio, Lobster Ceviche, Wagyu filet with osetra caviar, and roasted corn chocolate mousse. A vegan menu is also available. The $350 fee includes a glass of champagne. The restaurant also providing guests with a private fireworks display!
Dancing in Dallas at Te Deseo
Te Deseo Cocina Latina is helping guests enter 2024 in style. The restaurant is offering a “night of unparalleled glamour and excitement” during their New Year’s Eve Countdown Party on La Terraza. The event will cost $125 and includes an open bar, a live DJ, and a midnight toast. Guests can start their evening with a prix fixe dinner -- $95 plus $45 wine pairing – that includes Crema de Elote, Red Fish with Adobo Rojo, and Churro Tres Leches Cake, or other choices.
