(DALLAS) – June 10, 2016 – Rudy’s Tortillas, the Carrollton-based, Guerra family operated tortilla manufacturer dedicated to producing the highest quality corn and flour tortillas and fried chips for restaurants since 1945, has now become one of the largest tortilla manufacturers in the United States after the strategic acquisition of Landes Foods.
Rudy’s Tortillas has increased their production capabilities to a total of 26 processing lines in their 248,000 square-foot, SQF Level 2 Certified, tortilla processing plant in Carrollton, Texas. Landes Foods was acquired for an undisclosed amount by Rudy’s Tortillas.
The Guerra family will continue to manage Rudy’s Tortillas, led by CEO Louis Guerra, COO Rudy Guerra Jr. and Vice President of Sales Joe Guerra. Matt Landes and Tommy Rowland will join Rudy’s Tortillas as well as other key Landes Foods employees from Quality Assurance, Marketing and Plant Management. Rudy’s Tortillas also obtained eight production lines in the acquisition.
“In less than a decade, Landes Foods has built an impressive brand that focused on innovation and high quality products with unmatched customer service that is widely acknowledged in the national restaurant industry. Their relationships paired with our loyal list of clients will position Rudy’s Tortillas to better serve our national restaurant customer base,” says Louis Guerra.
Dallas-based Landes Foods was founded in 2010 by brothers and businessmen Brett and Matt Landes. Together they established concrete relationships with national restaurant chains and foodservice distributors.
“Throughout our company’s history, we’ve maintained our focus and have strategically grown our business into one of the most trusted corn and flour tortilla manufacturers in our industry. And after seven decades in business, we’re elevating our brand even higher,” says Guerra.
