The National Association of Foodservice Equipment Manufacturers wrapped up their show in Orland this past weekend. El Restaurante publisher Ed Avis walked the show and found several interesting products for Mexican/Latin restaurants:
BE&SCO Tortilla Machine makes steaming hot tortillas at the 2019 NAFEM Show in Orlando.
BE&SCO exhibited at NAFEM for the first time and had crowds checking out their automatic tortilla making equipment. No surprise, since the equipment makes the process easy and also makes an interesting show while it's working.
Ventura Flex Tortilla Maker
Javier and Leticia Alatorre with the Ventura Flex Corn Tortilla Machine
Tortilla Masters demonstrated the Ventura Flex, a corn tortilla machine that fits on a 2' x 2' spot. The Ventura Flex has a compact motor and gears that allow it to deliver solid tortilla-making power in a small footprint.
Tony Marino demonstrates the Dutchess tortilla press.
Dutchess demonstrated its solution for making flour tortillas. The Dutchess tortilla press turns a dough ball into a fresh, hot tortilla in seconds.
Antunes Tortilla Warmer
Antunes demonstrated a tortilla warmer that could make life easier for Mexican restaurants using pre-made tortillas. Just slip a tortilla into the slot at the top, and a few seconds later it spills out the bottom, toasty hot.
Taco Holder from International Tableware
International Tableware exhibited some beautiful ceramic taco holders. The holders, which come in a variety of colors, include a space for a side dish.
Rolling Tortilla Warmer from Star
Star showed off its Rolling Tortilla Warmer, which heats up tortillas and other flatbreads in a matter of seconds.
Winston Food Service CVap Cabinet
Winston Foodservice demonstrated their CVap Cabinet, which uses an adjustable combination of moist and dry heat to keep products such as tortilla chips crisp and hot and tortillas soft and hot.

Imperial Pro Series Griddle
Imperial demonstrated its Pro Series Griddle, which combines professional design with smart technology. A digital temperature control lets the user adjust temperature levels, and each burner is individually controlled for higher product yields.
Comstock-Castle Double Fryer
Comstock-Castle showed off their new double fryer that features one cabinet and heating element but two oil baths, so different types of food can be kept separate. Comstock's Curtis Spake noted that the two baths could also keep gluten-free customers happy by keeping one bath free of any gluten-containing items.
