el Restaurante extends congratulations to winners of the prestigious 2019’s Icons de Artes Award who were honored during Una Noche Linda: Canciones y Comida, the LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes’ Eighth Annual Pobladores Awards Gala held at the cultural center on Wednesday, June 26 in Los Angeles.
Eight Los Angeles-based Latinx James Beard Award recipients were honored for their contributions not only to Los Angeles cuisine, but for their work in elevating Mexican gastronomy and recognizing its important influence on the food world.
The 2019’s Icon de Arte awardees include Chef John Rivera Sedlar of ELOISA; Chef Bricia Lopez/the López Family of Guelaguetza; Chef Dora Herrera and Chef Socorro Herrera of Yuca’s; Chef Matt Molina; Chef Dahlia Narvaez; and writers Carolynn Carreño, Laurie Ochoa and Bill Esparza.
Singer and arts advocate Linda Ronstadt also was honored with an award for her contributions to Latino art and culture.
