Being recognized by the New York Times is no small accomplishment. And it is something Garcia's Mexican Food in San Antonio is celebrating! The publication just named the restaurant’s brisket taco one of the “Best American Dishes of 2023.”
“A juicy, crisp-edged slab of brisket, a blanket-soft tortilla, some pico de gallo — when the basics are executed this well, there’s no need for any other adornments,” is how food reporter Priya Krishna described Garcia’s popular menu offering.
“We are blessed and very thankful for this special recognition. We are thankful for continuing our parents’ legacy going for over 62 years,” Garcia’s wrote in a Facebook post. “We would like to thank our family, staff and all of our wonderful and dedicated customers for their continued support of our small business for over 60 years, and to our pitmaster Andrew for all his hard work and dedication to perfecting his art.”
