Mexican and other Latin-themed restaurants are in a good place where consumer preferences are concerned! According to Global Palates: Ethnic Cuisines and Flavors in America, a new report from the National Restaurant Association (NRA), 80 percent of American diners eat at least one ethnic cuisine per month. Even better news is that consumers usually eat ethnic food in restaurants—mainly tableservice ones at that. Eighty-four of diners prefer eat ethnic food at a restaurant that specializes in that cuisine. However, 75 percent also say they like it when restaurants with mainstream menus serve ethnic dishes. Check out the NRA’s blog for more information about the survey’s findings.
