Siete, Manhattan
Siete is a new vegan Mexican restaurant in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood. The restaurant is part of City Roots Hospitality Group and is headed by Chef Guy Vaknin. The menu includes a ceviche made with jicama, mango and avocado; Empanadas Tres Quesos; and other dishes that emphasize plant-forward dining. The restaurant is entirely vegan and kosher certified. Lotería, Southington, Connecticut
Lotería opened last month in Southington, Connecticut. The owners, Fabian Gonzalez and his wife Gregoria Alcoser, chose the name because this is their first business and they hope to get ahead, as one hopes to do in the game of the same name. The restaurant features dishes such as “El Musico,” which is a mix of steak, shrimp, chicken rice and beans. A popular cocktail is La Rosa, made with mezcal, hibiscus syrup, orange juice and lime juice. Read more here
El Patron, Scottsdale, Arizona
El Patron New Mexican Restaurant has opened in Scottsdale, Arizona. The restaurant, owned by veteran restaurant owners Jimmy and Nadine Daslakos, features menu items such Chile Rellenos, Green Chile Chicken Lasagna, Huevos Rancheros, stuffed sopas and chimichangas. Read more here
