Mestizo Louisiana Mexican Cuisine in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is celebrating a quarter century of existence with a series of ticketed events that will showcase the evolution of the restaurant’s cuisine. The series kicked off with a Tequila Dinner on January 25 and will conclude the week of Christmas with a special Sides + Spirits promotion.
“The Mestizo journey has been an incredible ride from a small 60 seats to the current location of 175,” says owner Jim Urdiales. “So proud to have served my community for the past 25 years and showcased the beautiful cuisine of Mexico with a Louisiana flair.”
Other events in the coming year include:
- Mestizo Buffet Extravaganza – Feb. 25, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Mestizo 25th Anniversary Celebration – March 25, 5-8 p.m. *exclusive cocktail party with live music and food stations – limited tickets available
- Bubbles Tasting – April 25, 5-8 p.m.
- Rosé Sipping Soirée – May 25, 2-5 p.m.
- Sugarfield Spirits Cocktail Party – June 25, 5-8 p.m.
- La Adelita Tequila Tasting – July 25, 5-8 p.m.
- Mestizo Buffet Extravaganza – Aug. 25, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Jim’s Favorite Tequila Dinner Showcase – Sept. 25, 6-9 p.m.
- Day of the Dead Cocktail Specials – Oct. 25, all day long
- $25 Thanksgiving Sides + Spirits – week of Thanksgiving
- $25 Christmas Sides + Spirits – week of Christmas
As part of the celebration, Mestizo encourages patrons to share their fondest memories at the restaurant on social media using the hashtag #Mestizo25.
