From April 27 to 30, the Tianguis Turístico México 2026 returns to its roots: Acapulco, the port where it was born and which today stands renewed, vibrant, and ready to welcome the world.
More than just a date on the calendar, these are four days where tradition meets innovation, where the waves of the Pacific accompany the pulse of a destination celebrating half a century of tourism history with vigor and splendor.
With the participation of the 32 states of the Republic, more than 8,000 attendees, over 1,000 international buyers from 17 countries, and more than 30,000 scheduled business meetings, this edition marks a milestone in the history of Mexican tourism.
Acapulco, ready to welcome the world
Following a recovery of over 86% of its hotel infrastructure, the port offers more than 17,000 available rooms across 310 hotels, in addition to restored air and land connectivity. Guerrero’s Secretary of Tourism, Simón Quiñones Orozco, emphasized: “The Tianguis returns to its essence: being a space for business, exchange, and opportunities for the entire sector”.
The Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, noted that the 94% occupancy rate reflects the destination’s vitality: “Today I find a different Acapulco; there is life, there is transformation, and that speaks to its greatness”.
An event with an international dimension
The Tianguis will feature international pavilions from Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Honduras, Japan, and Nicaragua, as well as Colombia as the Guest of Honor, strengthening cooperation and Mexico’s global presence.
The agenda includes academic programs, conferences, and workshops to boost the sector’s competitiveness, as well as cultural and gastronomic activities:
- Window to Mexico, featuring traditional cooks and handicrafts in Plaza Quebec.
- Taco Festival in Taxco, Guerrero.
- Destination presentations and the Mexico Sings program.
For the first time, the event will feature public sales of exclusive promotions for tourism packages and experiences via social media and digital platforms.
Innovation and the Future
Among the new features are the Tourism Investment Forum, the awards ceremony, and the installation of pavilions for community-based tourism and tourism financing, promoting an inclusive and sustainable model.
In addition, a strategic tourism infrastructure project will be announced: the construction of a new cruise terminal with international investment, which in its first phase will generate more than 200 local jobs, expanding Acapulco’s connectivity and economic development.
A Symbol of Resilience
Tianguis Turístico 2026 is not just a business gathering: it is a celebration of a destination that is rising with strength, shining once again, and reaffirming its place as an icon of national and international tourism.
Acapulco, with its eternal sea and renewed spirit, becomes the perfect setting to remind us that tourism is also a story of hope, culture, and a shared future.
