"Dry January" is a growing movement. In fact, 41 percent of adults said they were going to skip alcohol in January 2023, according to a survey by CivicScience -- and 16 percent actually did abstain. That's a lot of potential lost bar sales if you don't offer something to serve these folks!
So help your customers who are trying to skip the alcohol this month by offering these five fun non-alcohol cocktails (aka mocktails or virgin cocktails) that are perfect for a Mexican or other Latin-cuisine restaurant. They're so tasty that customers will definitely order another round!
Virgin Tamarind Margarita - Margaritas without alcohol -- virgin Margaritas -- make great mocktails, because even in regular margaritas, the sweet and sour flavors are so strong that customers hardly taste the tequila. In this alcohol-free margarita, tamarind puree and orange juice combine to create an unforgettable zing.
Mango Tango - This is a mocktail that doesn't emulate a regular cocktail, and that makes it truly special. Your customers will love the combination of mango, basil and pineapple in this virgin cocktail.
Chamomile Margarita - This is another alcohol-free margarita that will please your customers. Because the base is chamomile tea instead of margarita mix, this will become a favorite of customers who enjoy more subtle flavors.
Apple Mojito - Mint is the predominant flavor in a traditional mojito, and this non-alcohol mojito provides a blast of mint flavor. And the tart apple flavor and the sweet of the simple syrup will make customers forget this is a virgin drink!
The Squeezebox MicheNADA - The Michelada is spicy, tomato-based cocktail that sells well in all Mexican restaurants. This easy-to-prepare virgin Michelada offers the same tangy taste without the beer.
Alcohol-Free Wine and Beer
Cocktails are not the only virgin bar drinks available, of course. There are several decent alcohol-free beers on the market today, and a growing number of wines with no or reduced alcohol, as well.
