Mexican restaurants and iconic tacos are the stars of the new Netflix series Taco Chronicles. The six episodes in the premiere 2019 season are organized by style of taco: al pastor, carnitas, canasta, carne asada, barbacoa and guisado. The program features profiles of taqueros who specialize in the various styles, the farmers who provide the ingredients, and other craftspeople along the way. The program is mostly set in Mexico, but some U.S. restaurants are included in the coverage, such as Guerilla Tacos and Sonoratown, both in Los Angeles. Iconic Mexican beverage Jarritos also makes regular cameos in the series. Critics are raving about the shows, which are only 30 minutes each.
