Georgina Estrada, president of the Mexican Sommelier Association (ASM) and deputy general manager of Vinícola El Cielo, has been recognized with the Women of Mexico Award 2025 by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. The award honors Estrada's vast experience and her tireless dedication to the growth of wine, beer, mead, and spirits in Mexico.
The award ceremony took place in the palacio de Gobierno de Chihuahua, which houses the historic Altar to the Fatherland, a space that speaks of memory, identity, and roots. There, in front of colleagues, friends, and allies from the sector, Georgina received a special commemorative piece created by Kristalov, symbolizing the steady steps of a woman who knew how to pave the way without losing her warmth.
During the event, the role of Mexico Selection by CMB, a project led by Baudouin Havaux and Carlos Borboa, was also highlighted. Its purpose is to strengthen the visibility and quality of Mexican beverages on the international scene.
The value of adding, building, growing
The award recognizes more than two decades of leadership, vision, and professionalism, during which Estrada has been a key player in the professionalization of the sector and a constant presence in the consolidation of wine tourism, wine culture, and the representation of Mexico in global forums.
Estrada has built community, trained new generations, and championed quality as a standard. Today, her name is a benchmark among those who work for the prestige of national beverages.
“My father used to say that true success is not built by oneself, but with the strength, talent, and heart of the people around you,” Estrada said during the event.
An award that also celebrates community
The Mexican Sommelier Association recognizes in this award the reflection of the commitment and generosity that Estrada has given to the institution. Her work has forged bonds that today hold the guild together more solidly than ever.
This award not only celebrates a leader; it celebrates the unity of a group that has grown under her guidance. It celebrates a shared vision and pride in an industry that flourishes thanks to those who believe in it.
“More than an award, it is a reminder of the journey and an invitation to continue building together, moving forward, learning, and always toasting to what unites us,” Estrada concluded.
