In the heart of Veracruz, the Magical Town of Coatepec is preparing to celebrate one of the events most representative of its identity: the Coatepec National Coffee Fair, a festival dedicated to the coffee-growing culture that distinguishes this region, renowned for the quality and tradition of its coffee.
The celebration will take place from April 30 to May 10 at the Profesor Luis Justo Carreón Tejeda Fairgrounds, establishing itself as one of the most important gatherings for coffee producers, specialists, and enthusiasts in Mexico.
This event aims to strengthen Coatepec’s leadership in national coffee production, while also boosting tourism and reaffirming the pride of a community deeply connected to the land and the cultivation of coffee. The fair is also part of a promotional strategy that seeks to showcase Coatepec coffee on the national and international stages.
For this edition, the event will feature Colombia and Honduras as guest countries, two nations with strong coffee-growing traditions that will enrich cultural and productive exchange. Additionally, Hidalgo will participate as a guest state and Cuetzalan, Puebla, as a guest Pueblo Mágico, broadening the dialogue between producing regions and tourist destinations.
The program will include various spaces dedicated to the world of coffee, ranging from specialized areas on cultivation and sustainability to forums focused on small-scale producers and the coffee industry. There will also be pavilions dedicated to regional products that are part of the region’s agricultural heritage, as well as a sensory coffee pavilion that will allow visitors to explore the aromas, flavors, and processes that define this iconic beverage.
An event that draws thousands of visitors
For this edition, municipal authorities project the arrival of just over 100,000 visitors to the municipality, a figure that in previous years has set the tone for the event and which is now expected to be exceeded, consolidating the fair as one of the region’s main drivers of tourism.
The fair will take place on a fairgrounds spanning over nine hectares, organized into various themed pavilions that will allow visitors to explore Coatepec’s productive and cultural richness.
At the heart of the event will be the coffee pavilion, a central and prominent space highlighting the municipality’s coffee-growing tradition. Surrounding it will be other pavilions dedicated to the region’s iconic products, as well as areas set aside for artisans and the sale of traditional goods, strengthening local identity and the connection with producers.
The event will also feature amusement rides, the traditional town theater, and an engaging lineup of artistic performances throughout the eleven days of activities, offering a festive experience for visitors of all ages.
More than just a fair, the Coatepec National Coffee Fair is a living expression of the history and spirit of a town where coffee is not merely a crop, but culture, identity, and legacy—a celebration that leaves every visitor with the aroma and memory of a land deeply rooted in coffee.
