Modern Mexican restaurant Mexican Sugar is expanding. The restaurant, which currently has three locations in Texas, has added a location in Houston. The two-story destination features scratch-made dishes and an “Agave Library” that features an extensive selection of tequilas and mezcals.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Mexican Sugar to Houston,” said Justin Beam, director of operations for Mexican Sugar. “This location is all about bold flavors, great vibes, and creating a space where Houstonians can come together to celebrate, relax, and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience.”
The almost 13,000-square-foot restaurant features two patios with views of Buffalo Bayou Park, offering indoor and outdoor seating on both levels. Designed to capture the essence of Mexico City, the space combines handcrafted tiles, lush textiles, and curated artwork.
The menu features dishes including hand-pressed tortillas made from heirloom masa, Lobster Fundito, Angus Skirt Steak, and Bone-In Pork Chop. The restaurant serves traditional favorites such as tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas, alongside specialties such as Striped Bass and Barbacoa Arepas. Featured dishes at brunch include Cajeta French Toast, Chicken Chilaquiles, and Benedictos Rancheros.
The Agave Library, showcasing over 150 tequilas, mezcals, and sotols, offers guests an immersive experience with curated flights and expert recommendations.
