Box of Cubans, a fast-casual Cuban restaurant, is opening a new flagship location on December 4 and is preparing to franchise. The new location is 2,300 square feet – twice the size of its original location – and is located in New Tampa, Florida. The flagship store will serve as a hub for training and support of new franchisees.
“Since we launched Box of Cubans in 2017, the community response has been overwhelming,” said Marcos Silverio, who cofounded the brand with his wife, Onelia Silverio. “This flagship store is our way of showing potential franchise partners that we’re committed to providing hands-on support and top-tier training from day one. We’re aware of the demands franchisees face, and we want them to feel fully supported as they grow with us.”
Box of Cubans began within a BP gas station, and expanded to its own storefront in Riverview, Florida in 2022. The restaurant was featured on Fox News and recognized as one of Yelp’s “Top Places to Eat” in Tampa Bay.
In collaboration with Franchise Marketing Systems (FMS), an Atlanta-based full-service franchise development and sales firm, Box of Cubans developed the new location to provide franchise owners with resources and training opportunities.
Box of Cubans plans to expand throughout Florida, the Southeast, and eventually nationwide.
“Our new location is designed for comprehensive training, covering every detail from equipment and food ordering to day-to-day operations,” Silverio added. “This flagship store will be a place where franchisees can train alongside our team of top industry professionals while experiencing the full menu and atmosphere that make Box of Cubans so special.”
