The Texas Restaurant Association and the National Restaurant Association are spearheading a group called Restaurants Respond, which aims to assist victims of Hurricane Harvey, especially employees of restaurants.
Here is an email the organization sent out on Wednesday:
In the wake of the largest disaster in Texas history, restaurants across America have stepped up to support communities affected by the catastrophic inland flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.
We are asking for your continued support.
Restaurants Respond is a joint project of the Texas Restaurant Association, its local chapters, and National Restaurant Association. It's not an organization. It's simply a group of associations, restaurants, foodservice companies and their employees and guests from across the country that came together in the wake of Harvey to help those affected by catastrophic events, especially employees of restaurants.
Here's how you can help.
- Ask fellow owners and operators, employees and guests to join us. Refer them to RestaurantsRespond.com.
- Host your own giving event to raise funds for Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE), the Houston Food Bank, and the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
- Report your giving. Let us know fundraising results so we can track the industry's impact – not just on our Chosen Charities, but on all efforts by our industry in support of recovery.
