The second-annual National Tamale Day will be celebrated March 23. It's a great opportunity to add some special tamales to your menu!
The petition to get official recognition of National Tamale Day was co-sponsored in 2014 by Richard Lambert, owner of Santa Barbara Tamales-To-Go. The day is now recognized by Chase's Calendar of Events.
Lambert says March 23 was chosen with the hopes of encouraging people to eat tamales after the traditional holiday time.
