Chef Juan Licero Alcala evidently thinks people love tacos so much that they'll spend as much on his new creation than they would on a fancy new car! The chef, who plies his craft at Grand Velas de Los Cabos hotel, used lobster, caviar, truffles and gold foil to create his piece de resistance.
"People are excited and a little surprised about a taco that costs $25,000 (497,000 pesos) when you can find one on the street for 10 pesos," Licero Alcala said. "Then you explain the delicacies, and the skill and harmony in the dish, and they see that it's worth it."
No word if anyone has ordered the taco yet!
