Grandeza, an orange liqueur designed for "Cadillac" margaritas and founded by Mexican restaurant owner Bernie Garcia, has won a Double Gold Medal at the SIP Awards spirits competition. The brand also won two gold medals for package design.
The SIP Awards is an annual event that uses consumers as judges. In 2019, 977 brands competed across 93 categories.
"It was Grandeza's first entry into a spirits competition and are thrilled that SIP Award's consumer judges honored us with a Double Gold Medal," Garcia says. "We originally set out to craft Grandeza as the ultimate orange liqueur for Cadillac-style margaritas. After sampling hundreds of variations, and fine-tuning it with agave nectar, we believe we have created a delicious and authentic orange liqueur designed to complement the wonderful flavors of tequila in America's top selling cocktail. We are extremely excited with the SIP Awards recognition and look forward to introducing the brand to new markets across the country."
