el Restaurante magazine will recognize leaders in the Mexican/Latin foodservice industry in a new regular feature in the magazine. The new "Who's Who" section, which will debut in the January/February edition, will highlight key players in different regions of the country in each issue.
The section will include three key elements:
- An interview with a long-established leader in that region, such as a restaurant owner, manager, or chef.
- An interview with an up-and-coming leader in that region, such as an innovative young owner or creative bartender.
- A short list of other key players in that region, with brief descriptions of their careers. This list will probably include some people who are essential to the restaurant industry but don't work directly in it, such as distributors or vendors.
"The new 'Who's Who' feature is designed to acknowledge some of the amazing personalities in the Mexican/Latin foodservice industry," says Ed Avis, publisher of el Restaurante. "The section will not be a comprehensive guide to the key players; rather, it will highlight a handful of interesting individuals in each region."
The first edition will feature leaders in Northeast U.S. Subsequent editions in 2018 will cover the Southwest, the West, and the Southeast. The Midwest will get its turn in the Jan/Feb 2019 edition.
Avis is actively seeking nominations of key players in all regions of the country. They can be from any aspect of Mexican/Latin foodservice - restaurants, bars, distributors, vendors, etc. If you would like to nominate someone (or yourself), please click here to complete the nomination form.
