A recent consumer survey discovered that Chipotle, Rubio's, and Qdoba have the most loyal customers among Mexican multi-unit restaurants.
The survey, which was conducted by research firm Datassential on behalf of Nations Restaurant News, a trade publication that covers primarily chain restaurants, asked consumers to identify which chain restaurants they had visited recently, and whether they went there because they really wanted to, or simply because it was convenient. The restaurant's score represents the percentage of consumers who said they went there because they really wanted to.
Chipotle, which had a score of 49 percent, was the highest ranked Mexican chain, and it was the 13th overall chain. Rubio's had a score of 47 percent, which was good enough for a tie at 16th place; and Qdoba scored 45 percent, which put it at 32nd place.
Other Mexican restaurant chains on the list included Moe's Southwest Grill (44 percent), Baja Fresh (43 percent), Pollo Loco (43 percent), Taco Bell (43 percent), Taco John's (41 percent), Del Taco (40 percent), and On the Border (36 percent).
